In an article in BMJ Global Health, the authors argue that undocumented migrants are often overlooked in national health system planning and implementation. They often have access to fewer services and must cover larger out-of-pocket expenses .
“Where human rights obligations seek to realise universal health coverage for everyone, national policies on universal health coverage, should ensure essential health needs independent of migrant status.”
